Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2014 Details
JEE (Main) is one of the entrance examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to Undergraduate Engineering programs.

A student aspiring to get admission to Undergraduate programs at Indian Institute of Technology has to appear for JEE (Main) in order to qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced) which is mandatory for admissions to IITs. The JEE (Main) score is also used for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions.

The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination shall also appear for JEE (Main) Exam.

Syllabus
Paper 1 (B.E./ B.Tech.): Objective type with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
Paper 2 (B.Arch./ B.Planning): Mathematics - Objective type, Aptitude Test - Objective type & Drawing Test - Questions to test drawing aptitude.
